Hi, I'm Ashay Aswale
Please scroll down for more details about by education and work
experience.
I am a Robotics Software Engineer at Pickle Robot, where I lead the
autonomy team in architecting task-planning frameworks and
developing hybrid VLM-driven systems to enhance operational
reliability in real-world warehouse environments.
Prior to my work at Pickle, I earned my Ph.D. in Robotics from
Worcester Polytechnic Institute, focusing on multi-robot task
allocation for heterogeneous systems. My research background also
includes extensive work in humanoid robotics, notably the
teleoperation of Boston Dynamics' Atlas via whole-body imitation. I
am also an active maintainer for the open-source project TOUGH
(Transportable Opensource UI for Generic Humanoids).
My technical journey is underscored by a commitment to high-impact
robotics: I served as team manager for our NASA Space Robotics
Challenge Phase II entry (finalist) and received the 'Best Paper
Award' at AAMAS (2022), a conference with a 24% acceptance rate.
